On July 26th at a training session in Athlone, the ‘Mapper 4’ became the ‘Mapper 18’ when fourteen Testers signed on to test the Beta Release of the CSIG’s Shannon Charts.
Each participant, after signing up, left with their own edition of Memory Map and the CSIG-IWAI owned Shannon Beta Charts loaded onto their PC, iPad or Android. They also received a copy of the Beta Testers Manual, including the Chart Key and the method of providing monthly feedback to the CSIG.
Some attendees expressed interest in joining the surveying teams, so they can add data to the charts in the cruising grounds that interest them most. It was an excellent day with excellent presentations.
Other work continues within the CSIG, surveying, gathering information and creating more charts for other parts of the inland waterways.
